Duffield & Hazelwood Scarecrow Trail 2026
When I Grow Up
For what was our 10th anniversary scarecrow trail we were taken back to our childhoods with around 80 spectacular scarecrow displays dotted around both Duffield and Hazelwood. We were treated to some childhood favourites from the world of stage and screen as well as scarecrow displays showcasing jobs that some of us wanted to be once we’d grown up. We had a good mix of childhood memories featured including Gladiators, Lego, Peter Pan plus inspirational people ranging from nurses, firefighters, vets, and an inventor.
A few thank yous:

- To Cosy Direct for sponsoring the Scarecrow Trail for the second year running.
- To Duffield News, Treetops Charity Shop and Monchelsea Stores for selling scarecrow brochures.
- To all the local businesses that donated some fabulous raffle prizes
- To Duffield Parish Council for funding the gazebo for the Scarecrow Hub.
- To Craig, Evie and Imogen, Pippa and Sue, Toby and Esther, Eleanor and Lydia, Maggie and Justin, Katja, Jane and Lorna for helping run the Scarecrow Hub.
- To the team at Broadway’s Never Never Growing Up, the residents of Lime Avenue, 1st Duffield Scouts, The Tiny Treat House and the Baëz-Devine family for providing refreshments.
- And of course to every single person that came along and supported the Trail by buying a trail map and raffle tickets – we hope you all had a great time!
Vote for your favourite scarecrows
Now you’ve seen them all, there’s just one more thing to do… vote for your favourites! And everyone who votes will be with a chance of winning vouchers to spend at shops in Duffield!
Please fill out the yellow voting form that came with your scarecrow map – if you don’t have one, or would like more, you can pick up extra forms from Duffield News, Treetops Charity Shop or Duffield Library.
Please drop off all completed voting forms and quiz answer sheets at Duffield News, Treetops Charity Shop, Duffield Library, Hazelwood Memorial Hall or pop them through the letterbox of 9 Park Road. Alternatively take a photo of your forms and send them to Lisa at hello@duffieldscarecrows.co.uk or text/WhatsApp to 07988 602570. All winners will be announced at our Scarecrow Tea in October.
The closing date for returning completed voting forms and quiz sheets is Friday 25th September.
