Scarecrow Trail 2025 raises biggest ever charity sum!
Posted on
The 2025 Duffield and Hazelwood Scarecrow Trail proved to be the most successful edition of the event to date in terms of money raised for local charity. The chosen good cause for 2025 was Derby Kids’ Camp, an entirely volunteer-run charity that each year provides free holidays for around 300 of Derbyshire’s most deserving children.
Thanks to the amazing generosity of everyone involved the 2025 Scarecrow Trail raised an incredible £1,470 to Derby Kids’ Camp – that’s enough to provide a holiday next summer for six disadvantaged children!
Pictured receiving the cheque from Lisa and Jonathan Leach, organisers of the Scarecrow Trail, is Chris Edwards, President of Derby Kids’ Camp, along with Laila Riggott and David Hook from Cosy Direct. Cosy Direct provides sponsorship, volunteering, fundraising and logistical help for Derby Kids’ Camp, including providing the camp site, and also sponsored all the prizes at this year’s Scarecrow Tea.

So, once again a huge, final thank you from us to:
- Everyone who made a scarecrow for this year’s Trail – we couldn’t raise this money if you didn’t make your scarecrows!
- All the local businesses who so generously donated a prize for our fabulous raffle
- Everyone who came along to the Trail and bought a trail map and / or raffle ticket – every penny raised from these is used to fund next year’s Trail and our charitable donations
- Everyone who ran a refreshment stop and kindly donated some of their takings to support the Scarecrow Trail
- Everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s Trail by turning up and helping out when we needed you!
We can’t wait to do it all again in 2026!!
