We are delighted to announce that we have selected Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre as our chosen charity for the 2026 Duffield and Hazelwood Scarecrow Trail.

Established in 1891, Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre offers five-day stays at its purpose-built centre in Skegness for children who, due to financial disadvantage or other reasons, may not otherwise get a break. The centre provides over 450 holiday places every season (April-October).

For many children, a break with Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre is their first experience of the seaside, their first chance to make new friends, or their first time feeling safe and carefree away from difficult home circumstances. They return home with more than memories

They come back with greater confidence, new life skills, moments of pure joy, and a renewed sense of hope for the future.

This isn’t just about a holiday. It’s about giving children space to breathe, believe in themselves, and see a world that feels a little bigger and brighter.

Such a great cause and one the Duffield Arts Festival are proud to support!
